Replacement of an electric slab heater with multiple non-ducted split systems under the VEU program.
The VEU advised GEM 10/03/2026 - "Where a slab heating system services separate zones (rooms), these zones can be considered individual space heating units for the purposes of the activity. In this scenario, each zone may be treated as a separate unit being replaced. We would allow three individual non-ducted split system units to be installed to replace the slab heating system zones. As always, you should ensure that the zoning and configuration of the existing system are clearly documented and that sufficient evidence is retained to demonstrate that the zones operated as separate heating units".
