STC Compliance : CoES Date vs. Selfie Date
The date on the Certificate of Electrical Safety (CoES) does not match the date on the installer's final on-site verification photo (selfie).
For an example - the installer selfie is dated 12/12/2025, while the CoES is dated 13/12/2025. This discrepancy occurred because the installer completed the primary physical installation on December 12th and took their photo, but returned to the site on December 13th to do minor testing and cleanup, which is when they dated the certificate.
Under official Clean Energy Regulator (CER) guidelines, installers are required to take geotagged, time-stamped photos at three separate phases—job setup, mid-installation, and testing/commissioning—and the final completion photo must perfectly match the test date written on the CoES.
According to the CER, the job cannot be submitted with this discrepancy, and if it is submitted, it will not be approved.
