Battery STCs | Off-Grid Premises
Installing the PV/battery unit prior to the premise being built, can carry some risks as there is no dwelling present. If the claim is manually assessed we may request evidence of a dwelling which means if the house is not yet built, the claim may be failed. If you are able to provide evidence when the dwelling is built, the system may be eligible for STCs, however the claim needs to be created within 12 months of the installation date.
We recommend having evidence of a dwelling before creating STCs, if the battery on the shed services the future dwelling, you cannot claim another battery on the dwelling when it is built.
Eligibility criteria for small-scale renewable energy systems are available on our website.
